IMB Symposium: “Alliances vs Acquisitions”
The Berlin based airline Air Berlin has recently become a member of the international alliance of oneworld. Former McKinsey consultant and current Air Berlin manager Christian Kluge provided interesting insights into the challenges of alliance management. During the panel discussion the practical insights were framed by theoretical concepts of strategic and international management - scholars Jens Gammelgaard and Christoph Dörrenbächer presented the latest results of the debate on "alliances versus acquisitions". Moderated by Andreas Zaby a lively debate among panelists and the auditorium, consiting of IMB students, lecturers, alumni and distinguished representatives of the Berlin business community developed. After the discussion a long informal get-together in the IMB lounge completed the symposium.
IMB hosted E-Leader Conference 2012
On June 4-6, 2012 the E-Leader Conference took place at the IMB Institute of Management Berlin.
The conference was organized by the Chinese American Scholars Association (CASA) and targeted international scholars and practitioners. Papers on diverse global management topics were presented and discussed. more ...
Reelection of the IMB Director
The start of the winter semester saw a new personnel composition of the IMB council for its two year period. The council members confirmed Prof. Dr. Matthias Tomenendal in his position as IMB director and elected Prof. Dr. Solveig Reißig-Thust to his deputy and dean of students. The new team thanked the board for its expression of trust and committed themselves to continuing the jointly-developed strategic aims for the positioning of the institute, the further strengthening of its core and an extension of academic provision.
