MBA in Pharmaceutical Management

The part-time MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is designed to strengthen and expand management skills for those active in the pharmaceutical industry. The programme also fosters an enhanced awareness of the trends emerging in academia, science, politics and society likely to influence the future shape of the health system. As a graduate of the programme, you will have acquired the expertise required to take on executive management tasks or develop a career as a consultant in or for the pharmaceutical industry.
The programme places a particular emphasis on developing communicative and social competences. The Leadership Skills seminars, such as Leading Teams, Negotiations or Competence Development (Kode®), on the MBA in Change Management support your development as a manager with strong leadership qualities.
Structure
The Berlin MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is a two-year part-time programme starting every year in October. The courses are taught during blocked lectures and seminars, usually taking place with the following tuition hours: Thursday 6 - 9.15 pm, Friday/Saturday/Sunday 9 am - 5 pm (11 times). In addition there are four seven-day required attendance phases. To round off the programme, at the end of the progrmme a study trip will take place over four days with the chance to observe the structure, services and problems in a health care system outside Germany. The programme is worth 90 ECTS credits in total. The lectures and seminars are held in German.

Admission Requirements
To apply for this programme, you have to fulfil the following requirements:
- completed undergraduate degree in any subject
- a minimum of three years of relevant work experience
- very good knowledge of English (minimum scores - TOEFL: cbt 213 points or ibt 79 points; IELTS: 6.5 points)
- if you are an international student, you will have to provide additional proof of proficiency in German (e. g. DSH exam)

Please submit formally certified copies only – do not send original documents. If your certificates and other documents are not in English or German, you will need to provide a translation into one of these languages. The translations have to be formally certified and attached to the documents.

Since the available study places on this MBA programme are limited, we strongly advise you to apply in good time.
If you are applying from a non-European country, you will need to allow for the time to have your visa processed (approx. 4-6 months).
Applicants who meet all of the admission requirements will be selected by the Academic Board and invited to an interview. Usually, two weeks after the interview, applicants will be notified in writing and informed about the status of their application.
Tuition Fees
This MBA degree at the IMB/HWR Berlin is subject to a tuition fee of 17,500 Euro*, payable in three instalments.
The fees cover all courses, guest lectures, teaching material (e.g. reader, handouts or books), organised events and accommodation during the three to four-day study visit, IMB Events, matriculation, exam and final exam fees, and service and administration costs.
The fees do not include your travel and accommodation costs and your expenses during the required attendance phases or those incurred in connection with the study trip.

Since the programme has been approved as a course of further education in accordance with §§ 25, 26 of Berlin Law Higher Education, tuitions fees are normally tax deductible.
